I think the most fascinating thing about convention speeches is how they are perceived by the other camps. What’s the strategy to win? Your success depends not on motivating your base, but appealing for second-ballot support from your competitors’ camps. Today I stood at the edge of the floor and watched for the response not from the supporters, but from the other teams.
